Braun originally made a name for itself as an audio company nearly 100 years ago.
In the 1990s, the company – which has always been known for its high production quality – was forced out the audio industry as bigger players priced it out the game.
Today, the brand announced that it’s returning to the audio market with a reimagined range of its 1959 LE speakers.
Braun was once famed for its state-of-the-art audio equipment. Max Braun began producing parts for radios back in 1923, and soon his company was producing everything from speakers to kitchen appliances to personal hygiene devices.
Over the years, Braun has created many ‘world first’ products, including the turntables, a mobile record player and a radio hybrid. It continued to produce all manner of gadget and created its first electric shaver in the 1950s (a product that most people know from the brand today).
About 40 years before leaving the audio market, Braun announced its LE electrostatic speakers. And now – 60-years from the original week the speakers were launched – Braun is back with the relaunch of these retro-inspired speakers.
The company announced that Pure Audio will be re-inventing the LE range. While the new speakers will share the same aesthetic as the 1959 LE1s, the new line will be bang up to date with modern audio technology.
The whole lineup is due to be unveiled in Berlin at IFA – one of the largest consumer tech shows on the planet.
