We’ve only been waiting 10 years for this day – Rockstar games has finally released the first trailer of GTA6 – although there is still no mention of a specific release date. Although having just watched the new Grand Theft Auto trailer, we have a feeling it’ll be worth the wait.

The trailer captures the iconic GTA cinematography, neon storefronts, bad mouthing police officers, bandanas, guns and, an exciting new installment, a female protagonist, Lucia.

So what do we know about Lucia? Well, she’s back in prison, being questioned by an officer of some sort who asks why she’s back, to which Lucia replies, “bad luck, I guess.” For you maybe, but this is great luck for us. You have no idea how long we’ve been waiting.

And, excitingly, the location: back to Vice City, it is.

One exciting takeaway is the use of social media, specifically, what looks to be, Rockstar’s own version of TikTok and/or Instagram live, hinting that social media will play a big role. Does this mean Lucia will get cancelled before she ever embarks on her first big bank heist? Interesting.

But alongside Lucia appears to be, what will surely be a Bonnie & Clyde like relationship, between her and her fellow delinquent partner in crime, a young man with a penchant for sweaty tank-tops, trucker hats, tattoos, and guns, whose name has yet to be revealed.

When GTA V released, literally 10 years ago, driving down Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles (the city after which the fictional Los Santos is modelled) felt like you were inside the game: you couldn’t drive two feet without seeing a poster, billboard, bus stop ad, so we can’t imagine what Miami looks like right now, now that the news has finally released.

Let’s hope they don’t make us wait too long to get our hands on it.
