The new M-department models look slick and drive fast

After months of teasing its brand-new M3 and M4 lineups, BMW has unfeiled the new 2021 sedan and coupe editions. In short, they both have  more aggressive bodywork and huge new grilles.

Appearances aside, the two cars ceratinly meet BMW’s M-department certifications. Both variants include a S58 twin-turbo straight-six engine that we initially saw on the BMW X3 M and X4 M.

The standrd M3 and M4 engines boast 473 horse power and 406 pound-feet of torque, equating to a 0-100 kilometres per hour in 4.1 seconds. Competition sports models up the ante with 503 horse power and 479 pound-feet of torque, making 0-60 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds.

For the manual fans out there, just the basic M3 and M4 will include a six-speed handbook transmission – the sports version will come with an eight-speed automatic. All four versions come as rear-wheel-drive, however the Competition models will alwo be getting an all-wheel-drive version.

Both the M3 and M4 are set to be on roads come Marche 2021. The basic M3 will cost around US$71,000 while the MG will start at US$74,000.
