There was a time in the 1980s when cars were stars of TV shows in their own right – perhaps none more so than K.I.T.T from the David Hasselhoff fronted show Knight Rider. Although it seems that the real-life adventures of Michael Knight and his talking car are finally about to end, with the actor putting his own modified Pontiac Firebird Trans Am up for auction. In fact, if the bidder pays enough for it, Hasselhoff has agreed to deliver it personally.
Later this month, LiveAuctioneers will be auctioning off a whole host of the Baywatch and America’s Got Talent star’s personal personal affects, with the most intriguing one being his personal K.I.T.T car
The listing notes that the car is fully functional, but perhaps suggesting that it shouldn’t be used for more than just display. Based on the photos included with the listing, it also appears to be in excellent condition, especially its interior, which features a vast array of colored lights and displays.
In an intriguing twist, if the final auction price for the vehicle exceeds the reserve by 25 percent, then David Hasselhoff has agreed to personally deliver the car to its new owner. Despite the original estimate for the vehicle was between $175,000 and $300,000, the bid is currently approaching a $1 million.
