Bentley has said it will re-create 12 pre-war era Bentley models, and will appear identical to Sir Tim Birkin’s Team Blower car from 1929.
Bentley’s Chairman and Chief Executive, Adrian Hallmark, announced that a dozen Team Blower enthusiasts would get eh opportunity to won 12 matching replicas of the original car.
The models will be made by Mulliner, the company’s bespoke coachwork division. The plan is to take the original car apart – piece by piece – and then catalogue each component for duplication.
Back in the 1920s, Bentley produced four original Blowers that competed in a dozen races (hence the 12 new models). According to Hallmark, “”The four Team Blowers are the most valuable Bentleys in the world, and we know there is demand for genuine recreations that can be used, enjoyed and loved without risk to the prized originals.”
As replicas of the original model, each car with feature four-cylinder and 16-valve engines, and an Amherst Villiers MK IV roots-type supercharger.
The production will take around two years to produce all 12. Pricing will be announced closer to the cars’ road date.
