Auto design company will be revealing its plans for all-electric models

Pininfarina is the legendary design company behind some of the most highly-lauded cars in history.

Previously, it has worked on the Chevrolet Rondine (which costs a cool $1.6 million), the Ferrari 250GT Berlinetta Lusso (which sold for $1.8-million at auction last year), and the Alfa Romeo Spider ‘Duetto’ (widely regarded as the inspiration behind all modern-day convertibles).

Now the brand has said it will be embracing an all-new design philosophy, one that will be unveiled by the brand’s design director Luca Borgogno in August, during California’s Monterey Car Week.

Pininfarina will be embracing hybrid and all-electric vehicles with its new design philosophy, which has been dubbed ’PURA’. According to Borgogno, the philosophy will “define everything [the brand does] in the coming years.”

The brand previously unveiled its P40 hypercar prototype last year, which sported a sleek aerodynamic design which emulates the brand’s first commercially-produced all-electric vehicle: the Battista (yours for a cool $2.5 million).

Along with Borgogno’s new vision, the brand will have an ‘enhanced’ version of the car on display for potential clients at the US motor show.

Based on estimations, this new Battista will have a range well above 450-kilometres on a single charge and will pack almost 1,900-horsepower under the hood.

Only 150 units of the electric hypercar will be available, within Europe, North America and here in the Middle East.
