Volkswagens are synonymous with two things: the classic #53 Beetle, and the VW Microbus. Heavy on merging nostalgia with modern needs, the company managed to succesfully relaunch the Beetle in 1997, and now with with one eye on the future, the famous VW Microbus is getting the same treatment.
The German manufacturer has announced plans to reimagine the Microbus for future generations. Retaining a similar aethetic of the classic bus, this new ID Buzz with be all-electric – which should make hippies happy.
Although only in concept mode, the electric engine of the ID Buzz gives it a range of 270 miles can pack a shade under 300bhp. It is expected to hit showrooms by 2022.
