At long last, Riot Games’ shooter Valorant is finally getting Middle East servers and support.
Previously, while you could play the game in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries, there were no official servers – meaning high latency, lag, and a terrible ping.
That is due to change starting October 14, as Riot Games has said it will be switching on its Middle East servers, as well as Arabic language support.
The content will go live in line with the beginning of its Act 3 season, which will also see a new playable character and map.
That will now sit alongside a new Arabic website, tutorials in Arabic and a mini-series of content that will see gamers in the region playing on those Middle East servers.
Riot has also said that it will soon be announcing its first Middle East e-sports tournament. ‘First Strike’ is set to take place in November, and will mark Riot’s first time at proper competitive gaming in the Middle East.
In other news, EA has said its award-winning Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is coming back, being remasterd for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
The game will land ten years after it was first released, during the fast franchise’s heyday. The new version lets players drive a variety of supercars and police cars in the fictional Seacrest County.
