It’s being put together with help from Bethesda and Lucasfilm Games

Skyrim developers Bethesda has said it is creating a new Indian Jones video game, with an original story.

The adventure title is thought to be a new open-world game, and will explore a never-before-seen story featuring the titular archaologist.

Bethesda announced the new via Twitter, saying the new video game would be produced by Todd Howard (he who helped make Fallout 3 and Skyrim).

“It will be some time before we have more to reveal,” said the publisher. However, he did share a short teaser that featured books titled, ‘Ancient Circles’ and ‘Forbidden Stones’ as well as a brown leather notebook (which could possibly refer to the Grail Diary that featured in The Last Crusade), as well as a passport, compass, typewriter and a fedora and whip (naturally).

It is thought the game will be released at the same time as the next Indian Jones film. The untitled next (and possible last?) adventure is set to be released on July 29, 2022. Once again Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Indy, while Steven Spielberg will be in the producer chair.
