Microsoft has pulled the wraps off regional pre-orders of its Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles here in the UAE.
It has partnered up with a select group of retailers who are now offering pre-orders via their respected websites. Tentative deliveries are set for November 10, 2020.
So far Geekay Games, Jumbo and Lulu Hypermarket all allow you to preorder the console of your choice. While other retailers are listed as participating in Microsoft’s pre-order process, there is no way to order them online.
Pre-orders for the Xbox Series X are going for AED2,100 while the Xbox Series S will set you back AED1,250.
Most websites say you can only pre-order one per customer, to ensure everyone gets a chance at owning the next-generation console at launch.
Penny-pinching gamers might see something a little off about those prices. While in the US you can expect to pay US$500 for the Series X and US$300 for the Series S, in the UAE gamer’s will have to shell out US$585 and US$340 respectively.
That means gamers in the UAE will need to pay an extra 10-20 per cent over their international counterparts.
