Many people don’t know that the original Quake game was scored by the Nine Inch Nails.
Widely regarded as one of the best soundtracks (of one of the best shooters) of all time, the rockers have today made the entire album available in vinyl. It is actually the first time the soundtrack has ever been released.
The 2xLP release features a total of three sides and ten tracks.
If you didn’t play the original Quake, here’s what you missed:
Quake wasn’t the only soundtrack from the rockers; Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross created the Oscar-winning soundtrack to The Social Network. That has also just received a ‘Definitive Edition’ vinyl re-release. That features four sides with four to five tracks each (a total of 19 tracks).
Both are available right now via the Nine Inch Nails website, for around US$40 each.
2020 is proving a bumper year for vinyl. Earlier this month, vinyl records outsold CDs for the first time since the year 1980.
