Herman Miller has announced a new version of its Aeoron office chair dedicated to gamers.
The new edition doesn’t look all that different from the classic design, which is kind of the point. It is still the same conformable, ergonomic design, but comes with a few novel tweaks that will make gaming for hours on end that much more enjoyable.
The new chair has a slight forward angle, that will put players a little bit closer to their screens while also providing maximum anatomical support. The entire chair is finished in black matte, and the mesh-like seat and back now makes use of a brand new material called Pellicle. It creates ideal air circulation which is handy for stressful or sweaty situations.
The general features that made the Aeoron such a hit are also present and correct. Not only does it come in both medium and large sizes to accommodate players of different sizes, but its arms can be lowered and raised for optimum fit.
Even the tilt tension, how easily it shifts back and forth, can be customized to your liking.
Designed by Don Chadwick and Bill Stumpf, the first Aeoron chairs hit offices in 1994. It immediately became a hit among office workers who were now required to be seated for hours every day.
You can pick up the new chair over at Herman Miller’s online store. It will set you back a cool US$1,445.
