New DC movie has been postponed for a second time. Here’s the new release date

Wonder Woman 1984 has had its official release date moved once again.

What was going to be a summer film had its release pushed back to August 12, and then October 2. That has now moved again, the film will be postponed until December 25.

“Because I know how important it is to bring this movie to you on a big screen when all of us can share the experience together,” said director Patty Jenkins.

“I’m hopeful that you won’t mind waiting just a little bit longer,” she added.

It’s another big disappointment for the film industry in 2020. So far the global pandemic has affected film release dates, including the likes of James Bond’s No Time To Die, and halted production on a number of movies and TV series, like the new Mission Impossible 7 movie and The Witcher season 2.

The first Wonder Woman film broke DC box office records, so it should come as no surprise that Warner Bros. wasn’t going to risk low ticket sales by releasing it to early.

Despite cinemas across the world and here in the UAE slowly reopening, the doors are still closed in places like Los Angeles and New York – which remain crucial markets for the film industry.

Guess we will just have to enjoy the latest Wonder Woman 1984 trailer for a few more months until December.
