Sony has said it’s ‘The Future of Gaming’ event – where it will formally reveal more about its next-generation console the PlayStation 5 – will now occur on June 11.
Sony was widely applauded by the games industry when it postponed last week’s event due to the mass protests in the US.
“We needed to step aside so key voices could be heard during this historic and important time,” Sony Interactive Entertainment senior director of content communications Sid Shuman said, in a blog post that went up yesterday.
“While this road to launch has been a bit… different, we are as thrilled as ever to bring you with us on this journey to redefine the future of video games,” Shuman continued.
The Future of Gaming event will occure on June 11, available to stream on YouTube and Twich, starting 8 pm Dubai Time (1700 GMT).
PlayStation has already revealed that its new console will come with 4K ultra high-definition straight out the box, however it has kept quiet on which games will be available at launch, as well as the actual price and launch date.
We’ll be covering the event live – so stay tuned here if you can’t make the live streams.
