Sonic may be the fastest thing around, but his production team isn’t

  • The internet has spoken: the new live-action/animated Sonic looks terrible
  • Director Jeff Fowler has responded to the incredible backlash after the trailer for Sonic The Hedgehog hit cinemas
  • He has said there will be a three-month delay to allow the visual effects team to improve the design of sonic

It’s official, the ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ movie is being delayed, to “make Sonic just right”. The film is now set for the 14th of February next year, a full three month delay.

You may remember earlier this month, Esquire and the rest of the world all recoiled at the horror that was the official trailer for the ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ movie. The trailer was hated by fans for many reasons, but the most problematic was the design of the Saga mascot himself – Sonic.

Just a few days after the trailer dropped, the director himself took to Twitter to promise fans that they have been heard, and that Sonic was to be redesigned.

Well, the director Jeff Fowler has taken to Twitter AGAIN this month to tell everyone that because of the decision to remake Sonic’s design, the film is being pushed back to a February release, a full three months later than first promised.

We’ll have to wait and see if the delay is really worth it.
