Popular Dubai restaurant, Ruya at Grosvenor House in Dubai Marina, is moving to a new location. The restaurant has featured on Esquire’s 50 Best Restaurants in the Middle East list numerous times, made the announcement over the weekend.
However the Turkish restaurant has confirmed it is moving from its current location at Grosvenor House.
Executive chef Colin Clague revealed the move via his Instagram page, saying “it’s been a fantastic journey together over the last three and a half years, just want to say a huge thank you to Pam [Wilby, general manager] and all our colleagues at the hotel, it’s been brilliant”.
While he didn’t give any hints as to where the new location will be, he confirmed the news that they will be open and running as soon as the summer is over. However, no plans have been revealed yet on the location, or what their plans are for what is arguably the toughest challenge the restaurant industry has faced in the world.
Clague however took to Instagram to say they will be moving to an as yet unrevealed venue after the summer.
When it launched in 2016, Ruya put high-end Turkish food on the map. Since 2018, it has expanded into London – to mixed reviews – but we are still firmly in support of Chef Colin Clague’s quest to elevate Anatolian cuisine beyond that of simple cheesy bread
Here’s hoping one of Esquire Middle East’s favourite restaurant finds a new home soon.
