The owner of Reif Japanese Kushiyaki will be offering a free golden dessert to all visitors to celebrate

Dubai-based chef Reif Othman is the latest recipient of the UAE’s coveted Golden Visa.

That gives residency to himself, his wife and their two children for the next ten years.

The visa recognizes Othman’s service and dedication to the country’s F&B industry over the last 12 years, according to a statement. Refi’s wife Jasmine runs the front of house operations at his restaurants.

Here is arguably the best part: to celebrate, Reif is offering all visitors to Reif Japanese Kushiyaki at Dar Wasl Mall a free ‘golden dessert’ from June 20 to 26.

1. Golden dessert genmaicha creme brulee

What is it? It’s a Genmaicha green tea crème brûlée with gingered mango and Shibanuma chocolate crémeux topped with edible gold leaf.

“Both myself and my family have called Dubai our home for the last 12 years, and along with our business expansion plans, we are committed to the UAE long-term, so the Golden Visa recognition is the icing on the cake. An absolute honour. I have always been a workaholic who lives and breathes cooking. To champion a cuisine, one has to innovate constantly, something that requires dedication and hard work,” said Reif Othman, chef-owner of Reif Japanese Kushiyaki.

THE EXPERIENCE MAY 19

The Dar Wasl spot also is running a four-seater omakase tasting menu concept, ‘The Experience by Reif Othman’ with a different culinary theme. For June, the dishes are inspired by International Sushi Day (18th June). Two omakase tasting menus are available – eight dishes for AED 350, and 12 dishes for AED 550 (food only). These can be booked seven days a week for lunch or dinner for a minimum of two people and a maximum of four.
