Mark Wahlberg has been deliberately packing on the points for his new film Father Stu, in which he plays a heavyweight boxer that becomes a priest, but it’s safe to assume that he’s enjoying himself a bit while he carries a bit of extra weight in the mean time.
To do so, he turned to a Dubai favorite—Nusr-Et Steakhouse, and Salt Bae Nusret Gökçe himself.
Wahlberg posted a video of himself at Salt Bae’s Beverly Hills establishment, in a familiar template—celebrities looking in disbelief as Salt Bae pulls the bone out of the meat he’s prepared for them.
“The smell!” Wahlberg exclaimed in the video.
Wahlberg himself spread the salt on top in signature style with Salt Bae’s help.
Nusret also posted a video featuring Wahlberg in his LA joint.
For the last two months, Wahlberg has been mainly working with his personal nutritionist for the weight gain that his role requires.
Wahlberg, star of such classic films as Boogie Nights (1997), The Perfect Storm (2000) and The Departed (2005)—not to mention Transformers 4—has undergone a transformation of his own as he’s put on 9kg (20lbs) for his role.
He’s gone from being built like a brick wahl to well… a much softer wall.
Wahlberg shared this three-week transformation in a post on his Instagram with a caption “From left photo 3 weeks ago to this now. Thanks to @chef_lawrence_d cooking.”
The actor doesn’t seem to be upset about it as he just wanted to devour ‘everything in sight’ after being on such a strict diet for such a long time.
‘I want to go to bakeries, I want to go to Denny’s, I want to get pancakes. I want to get everything that I could possibly get my hands on.”
So Mark Wahlberg wants to be us? That’s a first.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Wahlberg had mentioned that “After we do the boxing scenes, I get to put on as much weight as possible over the course of the film, so I’m challenging myself to put on 30 pounds in the next six weeks.”

To make sure his fast weight gain process is healthy, his personal chef, Lawrence Duran told E!News that that “We meet with a team of doctors who do his blood and a nutritionist who gives us a full breakdown of what his body needs, what his body’s lacking and basically come up with a meal plan accordingly.”
As for his eventual weight loss plans, Duran would go on to state that Wahlberg would be able to ‘drop it pretty quick’ and that “within a few weeks we’d see a drastic change
We wish we could drop it period Mark.
