The Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) hotel, a massive ship converted to a hotel, is offering up a variety of Halloween experiences for you to enjoy (or not enjoy).
If you’re above the age where you need someone to hold your hand as you cross the street, chances are Halloween has changed a lot for you over the years. What starts out in childhood as an evening to put a bedsheet over your head to score free chocolate, slowly manifests during adulthood as a time to scare yourself to the core.
Covering both these demands is QE2, offering up a Halloween-themed brunch, which is family-orientated, and a ‘Haunted Tour’ which is very much not.
The QE2 Halloween Brunch will offer a host of themed foods, including jelly spiders, smoking dishes, grisly fingers, eyeballs, pumpkin carvings and more. The crew and live band will also be dressed up for the occasion, and there’s a ‘haunted ghost hall’ aimed at children.
For AED 395 per person, you can enjoy this brunch as well as house beverages. At 225 these become soft beverages. For an additional AED 55, children can take part in the tour below decks while adults can enjoy free-flowing drinks.
There are also deals for both couples and families to combine a night’s stay in a standard room, breakfast, the Halloween brunch and the haunted tour. This is priced at AED 699 and 999 respectively.

The Project Rising Star tour is an interactive Halloween experience below decks. Lasting from October 17 to November 2, the hotel is offering up a mystery tour experience under the hotel, with a different level of horror depending on the level you pick.
The plot goes as follows:
“For decades, a section of the QE2 was cordoned off, locked away from the public by secretive and influential group. What happened behind those doors? What was locked away? And why?
The space is finally unlocked, and now we know. In a decades-long scheme they codenamed Project Rising Star, a disturbing series of botched and failed human experiments were conducted.”
There are three ‘levels of terror’, the first level is aimed at families and features a tour of the decks. Level two, aimed at 12 and above, provides a more harrowing experience with more interactive moments. Level 3 requires a waiver to be signed as actors will chase you around.
