Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai, got married last night. He was married alongside two of his brothers, in a private religious ceremony.
According to the Dubai Media Office, the three sons of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, were wed in a joint private ceremony here in the city.
The Dubai Media Office confirmed this morning that 36-year-old Sheikh Hamdan was married to Sheikha Sheikha bint Saeed bin Thani Al Maktoum.
Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, 35, married Sheikha Mariam bint Butti Al Maktoum. And Sheikh Ahmad bin Mohammed, chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, 32, married Sheikha Midya bint Dalmouj Al Maktoum.
While it’s understood that Sheikh Hamdan signed an official marriage contract last night, a wedding ceremony is expected to follow. It’s not yet known whether or not it will be a public or a private ceremony.
Sheikh Hamdan – who goes by the name Fazza on Instagram – has yet to post about the event. However, others took to social media in droves to congratulate the crown prince.
Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, took to Instagram posting a picture of her brothers and wished them happiness. “The nation is rejoiced,” she said in the caption.
Emirati singers Ahlam and Balquees Fathi each tweeter their congratulations, and wished all the couples a lifetime of happiness.
Elsewhere, people took to Twitter to share photos of a young Sheikh Hamdan and his new wife.
The wedding comes after a big six months for Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan. Last year’s Dubai Fitness Challenge (which happens each November) was heralded as a huge success, and earlier this year he welcomed the UAE’s first astronauts – who will travel to the International Space station in 2021) to his offices in Dubai. He even got a hollogram, to do a speach at the World Government Summit in February. And an exclusive look at the Samsung Galaxy Fold last month.
