The ‘Air Lair’ gives you privacy, sanitization, safety and total comfort

A design firm has imagined the future of business class in the post-covid world, and we have to say it looks… really nice.

The ‘Air Lair’ from Factorydesign London consists of pods that are integrated with each other, and can fit into a traditional airplane. Each pod is built for privacy, hygiene and space efficiency.

The key to the design is the honeycomb nature of the seat (versus today’s airplane, which sees seats laid out in grids). By building together and upwards, that gives the designers more room to play with (which in turn, translates to bigger and better seats).

There are major benefits to each traveler being in their own separate pod, namely hygiene. As you are in your own personalized space, you can control your own temperature and airflow. Seats will be individually heated and cooled, and there will be cabins built for single travelers and families.

It would be an understatement to say that the travel industry has been affected over the last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, something like this – which would make travelers more secure in getting back on an airplane – just might be the ticket (literally).
