Turkey has reopened restaurants, cafes and the city’s iconic Grand Bazaar, after the government further eased coronavirus lockdown measures.
The re-opening also includes the likes of parks, beaches, libraries and museums. Millions of employees were also free to return to work.
However, there are a few things that are still unopen – namely nightclubs and bars.
Turkey’s city-to-city travel ban has also been lifted, allowing Turkish Airlines to begin flying inside the country. However, international flights remain suspended until June 10 at the earliest.
Turkey – with a population of 83 million – has had more than 4,500 coronavirus deaths.
While authorities within Turkey say that they have the virus well under control, officials have urged the public to continue social distancing and to wear masks outside.
