The museum is located in Dali’s home town, Figueres, Catalonia. The structure itself was Dali’s local childhood theatre which was burnt down during the Spanish Civil war, and reconstructed by the famous artist and the city as a grand temple to showcase his work. Essentially, the museum was designed by Dali himself.
