Dubai will soon be opening the Museum of the Future.
The structure – which is currently undergoing construction – is on track to open right on time for Dubai’s Expo 2020. The museum is often recognised for its unique oval “eye “shape made from stainless steel, adorned with Arabic calligraphy.
The museum of the future was designed using sophisticated tools, and made from thousands of interlocking steel triangles that were were produced by 3D printers. The structure will be environmentally friendly, all while having a smooth, modern style.
“The entire facade system is unitised, which means the structure, the windows, the insulation, and the waterproofing is all one system,” says Shaun Killa, head of architecture firm Killa Design.
The museum will highlight areas such as climate change, sustainability, medical advancements, and challenges and technologies that shape the future.
The museum is an initiative of the Dubai Future Foundation. Though still under construction, the modern design has already won awards.
