They have given us fuel, they have given us fire. Now, at long last, they have given us something we desire.
That’s right, Metallica has enlisted Miley Cyrus to cover their iconic ballad “Nothing Else Matters”. It’s part of their upcoming 30th anniversary box set for their 1991 self-titled album usually called “The Black Album” by fans.
On the song, Cyrus is joined by Watt, Elton John, Yo-Yo Ma, Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.

This won’t be the only cover. In fact, there will be dozens. The album will be accompanied by a 53-track tribute album featuring covers of most of the album’s songs, with all proceeds going directly to various charities chosen by the covering artists.
The other artists include J Balvin with the Neptunes, Phoebe Bridgers, Mac DeMarco, St. Vincnent, Kamasi Washington, and many more.
There will be three live LPs in the set, as well as 14 CDs to go along with the six DVDs, as well as a hardcover book, a double album and picture disc.
