Pop-sensations BTS will be heading back to Dubai in October, to celebrate their inclusion in Dubai’s very own walk of fame – the Dubai Stars.
Yesterday, the Dubai Stars Twitter account announced that BTS had made the cut, and that “a Dubai Star is now dedicated to the popular South Korean boy band from Seol”.

The seven-piece boy band are a global music sensation with more than 10 million albums sold since forming in 2013, the first-ever South Korean act nominated for a Grammy, and even being named on TIME magazine’s most influential list for 2019.
BTS is the first Korean act to be included in the UAE’s Walk of Fame. Other stars to be announced include Ellie Saab, footballer Lionel Messi, Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan, and Saudi Arabian Singer Abdul Majeed Abdulla.
Emaar – the developers behind Dubai’s bustling Downtown District – is betting the Dubai Stars will become one of the most-visited tourist attractions in the city, mainly down to the diversity of the celebrities chosen.

More than 10,000 international celebrities of stage and screen will be honoured, with more stars added every month.
“With Dubai Stars, we are further highlighting our commitment to making Dubai the best city in the world, and to promoting arts, culture and sports by saluting the stars, whose contributions continue to inspire the world,” said Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Managing Director of Emaar Properties.
The first phase of the Dubai Stars is currently under construction along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai. It’s thought that once all 10,000 stars have been installed, it will circle the likes of the Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall – which is the world’s largest mall by total area.
According to Emaar, 98% of tourists who visit Dubai head to Downtown Dubai.
