- Wallace & Gromit are set to return in new television short
- Creator Nick Park has said he already has a rough idea of the story
- The dynamic duo was last seen in 2005’s ‘Curse of the Were-Rabbit’
- Park has not ruled out more feature films featuring the British pair
Wallace & Gromit will be returning to television screens (and there’s even a new film in the works).
Creator Nick Park confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter that he is thinking up new adventures for the dynamic duo.
First up, a TV show. “I’ve got so many ideas, and feature films just take so long. So, I’m not saying ‘no’ but at the moment, a half hour seems far more attractive I must say,” said Park.
Park’s latest film – Early Man – took more than five years to produce, which is probably why 30-minute episodes are first on the cards for Wallace and Gromit. A half-hour animated feature takes roughly a year to produce.
There are no hints at potential Wallace & Gromit plots just yet, as Park is staying tight-lipped. However, “I feel I’m onto a good idea,” he says, “and I can’t give too much away because it would spoil it really, but it’s Wallace & Gromit up to their old antics.”
The quintessential British pair made their debut in 1989 short, “A grand day out”. Since then, fans have been treated to several follow-up shorts and feature films, including 2005’s, “Wallace & Gromit: The Cures of the Were-Rabbit”.
