It will mark his first directorial debut (and will also feature Ivan Drago)

Michael B. Jordan will be taking over the director’s chair for the third installment of the Creed franchise.

That’s according to his co-star in the ‘Rocky’ sequels Tessa Thompson, who mentioned the news in an interview with MTV. The 33-year-old actor said about Jordan, that “he is directing the next Creed”.

“It’s going to be ammo, I think, for me when he is engaging with me as a director. I’m just going to tell him to dial down the sexiness.” Thompson was referring to Jordan being named the Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine.

As for what the third film will be about, it’s thought to carry on the previous film’s storyline that saw the return of Ivan Drago – one of Rocky Balboa’s (played by Sylvester Stallone) greatest film foes.

Speaking in 2019, Drago actor Dolph Lundgren half-confirmed it saying, “I’ve heard things about a Creed III. I think Drago is in it somehow,” Lundgren remarked. “I heard Michael B. Jordan wants to direct something, maybe he could direct it like Stallone and Rocky. I hope I’m in it.”
