The Mandalorian’s season finale gave Star Wars fans an unexpected bonus; the post-credits sequence teased a new Star Wars series that will arrive on Disney Plus in December 2021.
The Book of Boba Fett has been rumoured – but was not announced at Disney’s recent Investor Day – which led to speculation that the show would not come to fruition. However, the credits sequence – that showed Boba Fett sitting on Jabba The Hut’s throne – has proved that the show is indeed on the way.
There is talk that the Book of Boba Fett might actually be the third season of The Mandalorian – giving Pedo Pascal a bit of a break from the main storyline – but Disney is yet to confirm either way.
The Mandalorian has been one of Disney’s most successful Star Wars spin-off series, and has generated both critical and public acclaim. This year it swept the nominations during the Emmy Awards, and its third season has already been confirmed.
