Following the vast critical and commercial success of Joker, Warner Bros. Pictures doesn’t want the villainous fun to end.
It has reportedly offered Joaquin Phoenix US$50 million to reprise his role for two more films.
That would give Joaquin Phoenix his very own Joker trilogy.
Phoenix has previously expressed that he would be interested in playing Arthur Fleck once again, if the script and direction were on point. Apparently, he is in active negotiations with Warner Bros., as well as consulting on scripts for any potential sequels.
According to rumours, Warner Bros. wants two sequels over the next four years. With Phoenix, they also want director Todd Philips and produce Bradley Cooper (who worked on the original) to part of the trilogy.
