A series about the end of the world couldn’t be more timely

The Snowpiercer TV show has just released its first trailer, ahead of its launch just next week.

The series produced by TNT is based around Jacques Lob’s original graphic novel, Le Transperceneige – which was later adapted into a feature film directed by Boon Joon-ho and starring Chris Evans.

The new trailer showcases Jennifer Connolly’s first class character, and Daveed Diggs’ enslaved hero Layton Well – two opposites on the 1001-car train.

Both characters stand out as the leaders of their respective hierarchies, with one side determined to maintain the status quo and the other fighting for freedom.

The clash – as can be seen in the trailer below – features a series of action-packed sequences, and teases other actors such as Alison Wright, Susan Park, Iddo Goldberg, Lena Hall, Sam Otto, Sheila Vand and Jaylin Fletcher.

The new Snowpiercer series will launch on May 17.
