Wonder Woman’s golden eagle costume is DC’s version of Iron Man

Wonder Woman’s Golden Eagle armor has been revealed, showcasing that it will both help Gal Gadot’s character fly and augment her abilities.

The suit of armor – which has been revealed in the comics before now – borrows more than a little bit from Marvel’s Iron Man.

Hardcore DC Comics fans will be familiar with the Golden Eagle armor, as the Amazonian superhero dons it for some of her biggest battles.  But it is the first time that casual Wonder Woman fans will have seen it in the flesh.

In the new Wonder Woman flick – which takes place in the 1980s – Gadot’s character will face off against two enemies; Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah, who possesses superhuman strength and agility, as well as Pedro Pascal’s Maxwell Lord.

Entertainment Weekly revealed a better look at Wonder Woman’s Golden Eagle outfit

Speaking about the costume, Oscar-winner designer Lindy Hemming said to Entertainment Weekly, “In the light, it’s always liquid… moving. There’s a feeling of non-flatness… because in the comics, she does fight her mightiest battles in the golden suit.”

The suit of armor shares many features with Marvel’s iconic character Iron Man, however does not have artificial intelligence (in the form of Jarvis/Friday).
