BAFTA has announced the nominations for the EE British Academy Film Awards 2020, which take place on Sunday, February 2 at the Royal Albert Hall.
Joker leads the pack with 11 nominations, closely followed by The Irishman and Golden Globe winner Once Upon a Time in Hollywood with 10 nods each. Fellow Globe winner 1917 landed 9 nominations, and will go against those movies and Parasite for Best Film.
In an unexpected move, Margot Robbie landed two nominations for Supporting Actress for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Bombshell. The overall acting nominations have been criticised for a lack of diversity.
The nominations were announced by BAFTA’s chief executive Amanda Berry OBE, alongside Asa Butterfield and Ella Balinska, while the awards ceremony will be hosted by Graham Norton.
To see if your favourite wins on the night, the BAFTA Awards will be broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer on February 2, with live red carpet coverage on BAFTA’s social channels.
