We wouldn’t have believed it ourselves till very recently but Bond 25 or No Time to Die really is happening. As the release date fast approaches, we’ve been given a look into the iconic Aston Martin DB5 used in the film.
No Time to Die has had a lot of details up in the air; would Danial Craig actually be in it? Who would write the script? Will 007 be a woman? And of course, what car will Mr Bond be driving? This final question has answers ranging from the Aston Martin Valhalla, to the Series II V8 Vantage, the franchise’s official Twitter has finally confirmed we’re going to also be seeing the iconic DB5 making a comeback.
One of the most famous cars in all of history, the DB5 made its debut in Sean Connery’s third Bond film; Goldfinger. The car has since appeared in three of Craig’s Bond films. Craig won the car in a poker game in Casino Royale, and then was given a Q-ified version of the car in both Skyfall and Spectre.
In recent weeks, we’ve got glimpses of the classic spy-mobile from behinds the scenes shots taken during filming in Matera, Italy. The clips shows the car in high-speed chases down long stretches and winding roads.

We’ve now got some official imagery to grasp onto, the tweet from the James Bond account shows the piece of automotive history in a nice gunmetal colour. Where the upcoming filming really shows off its liking colossal budget is an image showing three DB5s all lined up next to each other.

DB5s are some of the most expensive cars you’d ever be lucky enough to buy, a recent Bond tribute DB5 was auctioning for more than US $6.4 million. Whether or not these three cars are replicas, it’s still proof the filmmakers mean business for Bond 25.
The question then becomes, why are there three cars? Well shock and horror but it probably means that we’re going to see some DB5s getting destroyed on the silver screen and Bond needs a few back-ups. We’ve already seen official footage of Mr Bond stepping out of the Series II V8 Vantage so it’s clear that 007 and Mi6 isn’t suffering from a shortage of Astons.

Debuting April 8 2020, No Time to Die shows Bond having left active service (again) and enjoying retired life in Jamaica. However, he doesn’t get to beach-side living for long as his friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help against a major terrorist plot.
