Damon and Kristen Wiig shrink down in Downsizing

After appearing in Elysium, Interstellar and The Martian (in three consecutive years) Matt Damon will embrace Sci-Fi once again in 2017, but in a slightly different fashion. Downsizing – a near-future satire from director Alexander Payne (Sideways, The Descendants) follows Damon and his wife – played by Kristin Wiig – as they undergo a procedure to shrink down to just 0.0364% body size.

Apparently, quite literally downsizing, is the hot new trend to save the planet. Think about it, if you were a tiny person you’d use fewer resources, make less trash, take up less room and have a smaller carbon footprint.

The movie has garnered rave reviews following its premiere at the Venice Film Festival, and the Guardian called it a “gorgeous, giddy parable of a modern-day Lilliput.”

Downsizing also stars Christoph Waltz and Hong Chau and is due out in December.
