Today in the best news ever: Ben Hawkey – who you will probably better know as ‘Hot Pie’ from HBO’s Game of Thrones – has opened up his very own bakery serving up mouthwatering ‘Direwolf Loaf’ via London’s Deliveroo service. Why Deliveroo? In the words of the man himself: “You don’t even need to take a dangerous walk down the King’s Road to visit, it comes to you.” Inspired by the direwolf bread that Hot Pie made for Arya Stark when she was in dire straits, Ben’s loaves are made from wholewheat cornbread with added orange zest.
Will they taste any good? Who knows. But furthermore, who cares? It’s direwolf bread made by actual Hot Pie from Game of Thrones (who appears to be chanelling his inner Jon Snow at the moment). What’s not to love?
Not only is this an absolutely genius idea on of itself but Hawkey has also called his bakery ‘You Know Nothing John Dough’. If that hasn’t sold you on this being the best idea this side of Westeros then there is truly no hope for you. Until then: all men must dine.
