Casey Neistat has hundreds of videos (thousands, if you count Instagram) that have been seen by millions of people.
He now has almost 12-million subscribers on YouTube alone and has racked up more than three billion views.
Not counting his other social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram are around 5 million alone) Neistat has one of the most engaged audiences in the world.
Neistat joined YouTube in 2010, initially using the platform to host quirky and funny videos. Then, after picking up a ticket for riding his bike outside of a bike lane in New York, he made another short film that went viral.
Casey Neistat the YouTuber was born.
During his run at daily vlogging (which lasted around two years) Neistat put out more than 700 videos; not counting his special projects working with the likes of Nike and Mercedes.
That’s why we’ve rounded up some of his biggest and best videos, and combined them with some of our favourites to create a list of what we deem some of his best work.
Of course, this is just a sample. For more head over to Casey Neistat’s YouTube Channel:
Bike Lanes by Casey Neistat
The one that started it all.
Initially, this video wasn’t on YouTube (YouTube wasn’t really a big platform back then) it was posted and then shared via email and word of mouth. Eventually, the video attracted the attention of radio hosts and TV media and was ultimately addressed by then major Mike Bloomberg.
Make It Count
The third of a three-part collaboration deal with Nike, Neistat had made two more ‘corporate’ videos to advertise the Nike FuelBand.
Nike was so impressed with the previous two that they allowed him full creative control for the last video. That was a good idea, as the video has now been watched more than 30-million times.
The Devil’s Pool
A classic travel adventure from Neistat, and one that has inspired thousands of people to travel to Zambia to jump into the aptly-named ‘Devil’s Pool’.
My Custom Glasses
Neistat is known for his signature glasses – Ray-Ban Wayfarers with white around the edges of the glass. He wears them so he can make sure he is in focus without his audience seeing his eyes dart back-and-forth to his camera screen.
This is the story of the first time he customized a pair.
Do What You Can’t
Neistat has worked with a variety of brands over the years and is a long-time collaborator with Samsung (despite using an iPhone mostly).
He not only fronted 2017’s ‘Do What You Can’t’ campaign in an advert that premiered during the Oscars (which aimed to get young Samsung users to start creating content using Samsung products) but also produced this video explaining the ethos behind creativity.
The Most Expensive Plane Ticket in the World
On a recent trip to Abu Dhabi’s Formula One Grand Prix, airline Etihad decided to fly Neistat out in style.
They put him in ‘The Residence’ an aeroplane seat that costs around US$25,000 for a one-way ticket. Then they let him film.
All-Time Greatest Airplane Seat
We’re not sure Neistat ever planned on becoming known for reviewing outlandish aeroplane seats, but he’s undoubtedly one now.
Emirates were so keen on featuring their new first-class suite on its Dreamliner plane that they flew him all the way to Dubai for it.
Maserati Levante… stuck in the sand
Because this film is the one that we’re in when we shot Casey Neistat for the cover of our inaugural Influencer Issue back in March 2018.
How to Vlog like Casey Neistat
Neistat is never one to keep secrets from his audience or fellow content creators.
