Love is in the air for billionaire Bill Gates’ daughter Jennifer Gates, 23, who has recently announced her engagement to long-time beau, Egyptian equestrian Nayel Nassar.
“Nayel Nassar, you are one of a kind. Absolutely swept me off my feet this past weekend, surprising me in the most meaningful location over one of our many shared passions. I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives learning, growing, laughing and loving together. Yes a million times over,” Jennifer said.
So who exactly is Jennifer Gates’ new Egyptian fiancé?
Chicago-born Nayel Nassar, grew up in Kuwait, and according to People magazine, his parents run an architechture and design firm in the Gulf country.
The two reportedly met at Ivy League university, Stanford, as undergraduates and share a passion for Equestrian sports. Nasser graduated with an economic degree in 2013 while Gates has a human biology degree.
Nassar is also an exceptional equestrian. You only need to take one look at his personal Instagram page to realise that his passion and love for horses and equine sports runs very deep. The 29-year-old is on his way to becoming an Olympian at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as well. He helped Egypt qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and is Egypt’s first Olympic equestrian qualification in 60 years.
Gates told CNN’s EQ equestrian show last year: “Horses are just one part of our life, but we love the sport. He’s a professional, and I do this as an amateur. So, to be able to share our love and passion for horses with each other is just incredible.”
