Airbnb now gives you the chance to stay in Barbie’s Dreamhouse mansion
That’s right, Airbnb has teamed up none other than Mattel/Barbie to bring the infamous Dreamhouse to life. In honour of Barbie’s 60th birthday (she looks pretty good for 60), Airbnb has brought the Malibu Dreamhouse into the real world.
Complete with three-storeys, hot tub, pool, and of course ‘A LOT’ of pink.
Set over three levels, the oceanfront villa is completed with a DJ booth, a sports court with a fencing zone, a walk-in closet bursting with Barbie’s most iconic outfits, as well as a private cinema, balconies, and a private office.
Guests will also be treated to hair makeovers with famed celeb stylist Jen Atkin, personal fencing lessons from Olympian Ibtihaj Muhammad, cooking lessons with chef Gina Clarke-Helm and an exclusive, private tour of the Columbia Memorial Space Center with aerospace engineer Jill Meyers.
The villa brings to life the nostalgic fun of the Dreamhouse toys of the 90s, with a host of multi-purpose areas like the Mediterranean terrace for entertaining and the infinity pool with the DJ deck for partying. There may be a lot of pink but the interior is still impressively chic and cool, with tasteful modern furniture subtly injecting Barbie charm.
On the property’s Airbnb page, the ‘host’ explains that:
“As a homeowner and entrepreneur, I am excited to be hosting my Dreamhouse for the first time on Airbnb! I’ve traveled all over the world, but the Dreamhouse has always been my favorite place to call home. It’s full of inspiration, like pictures of the 200+ careers I’ve had and the role models in my life, so I hope it inspires you to remember that you can be anything!”
The bad news? This 2-bedroom villa is only available for a one-time, two-night stay. Booking opens on October 23 and then the lucky winners will be chosen for a one-off stay from October 27 to October 29. The good news? It’s only around US $60 a night and it will result in a charitable donation to Barbie’s Dream Gap Project, helping young girls realise their own potential.
