K-pop group 'Seventeen' are headlining in Dubai and people are losing it
Dubai is hosting the Korean Brand & Content Expo – celebrating all things Korean from Thursday, October 17 to Friday, October 18. Naturally as part of the celebrations the city has got in one of the most prolific groups in K-Pop; ‘Seventeen’.
Korean Brand & Content Expo is as the name suggests, a massive exhibition of all the most popular things to come out of Korea and make it into pop culture. From makeup, to media, to fashion, to literature, to of course, K-pop.
Headlining the concert aspect of the Expo on October 17 (today) is 13-member group ‘Seventeen’. Currently on the Dubai-leg of their ‘Ode To You’ world tour, the band will head to Japan and other parts of Asia following.
The group’s known as “self-producing idols” since the 13 members single-handedly handle all of the production of their performances and routines. The group notably split up their 13 members across three separate units, ‘Hip-Hop’, ‘Vocal’ and ‘Performance’, with each unit focusing on a different aspect of entertainment for the overall show.
K-pop has taken the Arab world by storm lately, with rallying cries for BTS to appear in Dubai, having already appeared in Saudi Arabia.
