Daniel Craig went full Bond villain at the British F1
After Bond 25, Daniel Craig is purportedly handing over his gun for good.
You can't really blame him. With a start date of 2006, the British actor became the longest-serving Bond (though the 007 title has been appointed elsewhere as dear James enjoys retirement in Jamaica). So, what does one do exactly after a lifetime foiling criminal masterminds?
You join them, apparently. Or, at the very least, dress like them. At Silverstone's F1 Grand Prix, the 51-year-old opted for shades more in line with a suave villain looking to offset Western democracy via methodical, targeted cyber attacks.
But that's where the nefarious activity ends. By channelling the eyewear of his former foes, Craig is in line with the trend for enlarged, statement sunglasses: Cartier Eyewear, Moscot and Gucci are but three brands to bet big on aviators et al, while the likes of Rag & Bone have revived your grandad's favourite pair of shades.
Yes, the Wayfarer may be fool-proof, but it's the aviator and his flashy cousins that'll command the respect of henchmen (or, more realistically, the other guests sharing your pool time on holiday). Just keep your outfit quiet elsewhere, or complete your wedding outfit with an eighties rum baron finish. Your call.
After all, playing the clean-cut patron saint of Mi6 is all well and good. But this summer, we've got our eyes on the villains.
