10 of Dubai’s Best Burgers
This Friday, August 25, is National Burger Day. It’s probably the most important day in the culinary calendar and it’s definitely going to be the most important event of your weekend. Why? Because we’re men. And the one thing men love more than attractive women and fast cars is burgers. It’s in our DNA.
There’s no better way to honour this sacred day than by enjoying a juicy chunk of meat wedged within a pillowy soft bun. But just which of Dubai’s mouth-watering burgers will you choose as ‘the one’ you decide to spend this very special day with? We’d usually recommend eating all of the burgers that the city offers just to be sure, but seeing as you’ve only got 24 hours we’ve narrowed down the list to 10 of the very best burgers the city has to offer.
‘The Beast’ at Burger & Lobster
We're big fans of burgers. We're big fans of lobster. Put them together and you've got something we can definitely sink our teeth into. Containing a 10oz beef patty, lobster tail & brie, this innovative creation from the aptly named Burger & Lobster is pure decadence in a bun. This burger doesn't come cheap, but with claws & fries on the side it's hardly a rip-off either.
Location: Burj Daman Building - 312 Al Sa'ada St, Dubai, UAE
Double Cheeseburger with ‘the works’ at Burger Joint New York
When you're craving a burger sometimes the simplest option is the way to go. And the griddle experts over at Burger Joint New York do the simple things oh-so right. With 'the works' including lettuce, tomato, onion, sliced pickles, mustrd, ketchup, and mayo on top of perfectly grilled patty and a slathering of cheese, you won't find much to complain about with one of these burgers.
Location: City Walk, Al Safa
‘The Bison’ at Black Tap
Straying slightly from the classic beef, the Black Tap's bison burger is an extravaganza of meaty goodness. Containing the sumptuous flesh of the great American bison alongside fresh mozzarella, pesto mayo, rocket, and shaved parmesan, this hearty burger also comes with a side of french fries or sweet potato fries. All of the Black Tap's burgers use high-grade Greater Omaha USA beef, so even if the bison doesn't take your fancy you can guarantee at least one of the burgers they have will.
Location: Jumeirah Al Naseem Hotel
The ‘Honey Bee Burger’ at Moylo’s Burgers
Moylo's Burgers, rather unsurprisingly, specialises in burgers. Located on Jumeirah Beach Road, this joint might be on the smaller side but the burgers it offers are anything but. We'd recommend having a go at the 'Honey Bee Burger' - a 100% home-made wagyu beef burger with cheese, smoked beef bacon, lettuce, aioli and Moylo’s own honey-mustard BBQ sauce.
Location: Jumeirah 3, Dubai
‘The Clinton Street Cheeseburger’ at Clinton St Baking Co.
Made with 250 day grain-fed Angus beef that's blended in-house and wonderfully charcoal grilled, the burgers at Clinton St Baking Co. are good. Very good. Served on a soft house baked bun with a sour pickle, you can choose a selection of sides like hand-cut fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, or dressed greens. Using fresh and organic ingredients, the burgers here almost fools your body into thinking that it's consuming something nutritious. Although all their burgers are worthy, the cheese burger with caramelized sweet onions and a handsome slathering swiss or cheddar cheese is the real stand out.
Location: City Walk, Al Safa
The ‘Double ShackBurger’ at Shake Shack
A New York institution that's slowly taking over the globe, Shake Shack's impact in the Middle East can best be summed up by the sheer proliferation of Shakes Shack Instagram posts that the people of Dubai have made since opening. These beautiful burger selfies aren't just empty praise either, as the cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato and signature ShackSauce really is just about as good as it looks. Which is no mean feat considering how delicious the burgers do look. We suggest doubling up because it's a loss less shameful than finishing your first and having to return to order another from the same cashier.
Location: Any of the multiple Shake Shack outlets throughout Dubai
The ‘Barbecued & Braised Pulled Beef Burger’ at Jones the Grocer
What's tastier than a beef patty? How about slow roasted, marinated beef that’s pulled off the bone and stewed in a sweet and tangy BBQ sauce? Yep. That'll do. Topped with pickled and julienned carrots, onions, snow peas, red peppers, and a few slices of cucumber, this burger from Jones the Grocer will definitely require some skill to stop it from overflowing all over your person. Served in a freshly baked brioche bun that will make you reconsider every bad thing you've read about carbs, you'll also require some self-control to prevent yourself from immediately ordering another.
A limited edition as part of their current menu, this burger - which comes with skin-on fries - will only be available until September 1st.
Location: Any of the Jones the Grocer stores across Dubai
Cost: Dhs 79
The ‘Veggie’ at Brunswick Sports Club
Yes, it’s meat-less. But that doesn't mean it's tasteless. Although the Brunswick Sports Club has got some delicious meaty options on their menu, this veggie burger is one that can seriously rivals its bovine cousins. A unique green pea and legume patty, this protein-packed burger substitute is accompanied by pickled beetroot, spinach, grilled halloumi, tomato relish, and avocado mayo. If you don't fancy setting yourself up for a future afflicted by coronary heart disease, this is probably the burger to go for this weekend.
Location: Sheraton Hotel, Mall of the Emirates
The ‘Hook’ at Salt
Getting a burger from a food truck is one of the few ways left in this day and age where you can get the true authentic burger experience. Lacking in cutlery and all the other useless accoutrements you'll find at various fine dining restaurants, Salt delivers in the area where it matters the most: flavour. The first to really kickstart the food truck revolution in Dubai, it's not hard to see why Salt has seen such a rapid growth across the region. Their menu is simple and their burgers are succulent. The 'Hook' is our personal favourite. A 2oz wagyu beef burger with melted cheese, hook salt, jalapenos, and lettuce in a soft butter bun, the chances of having just one 'Hook' are very, very slim. Something you certainly won't be after eating a baker's dozen of them.
Location: Any of the Salt stands spread throughout Dubai
The ‘Truffle Burger’ at Parker’s
Parker's is one of those places for people in the know. Those who haven't heard of it probably don't care, but those who have likely know it as that must-visit, super trendy place with the key gimmick. If you do fancy getting a little fancy with your burger, we suggest trying out the 'Truffle Burger' - which includes a truffle infused cured striploin, wagyu beef patty, truffle ranch, white cheddar, and a crispy onion web. Parker's seems to have uncovered a major key to burger brilliance.
