Denim with a difference

It’s always nice when celebrities go out of their way to make a difference in the world, and that’s just what A-listers like Harry Styles and Daniel Radcliffe have done with their recent involvement in the ‘Jeans for Refugees’ project.

Created by acclaimed fashion designer and artist, Johny Dar, this project has joined the collective forces of 100 celebrities in order to raise money for the International Rescue Committee (IRC). From Ryan Gosling to Sharon Stone, each of the 100 celebrities have donated a pair of their own jeans to the cause, with these celebrity-infused pairs of denim being painted and given various artistic treatments by Dar himself before they are put up for auction.

The jeans are exclusively available to bid and buy on the world’s fastest growing online auction house, Catawiki.

The very latest ‘Jeans for Refugees’ lots of signed jeans have been donated by Harry Potter star, Daniel Radcliffe and former One Direction bandmate Harry Styles.

Harry’s skinny black denims are signed with “All the love, Harry”, and have already gone viral on twitter without any addition help from Dar. They now feature intricate linework in metallic grey 3D paint that tells “Harry’s story ‘unplugged,” according to Dar, who added that “they are sexy jeans, full of energy – ready to rock your world!’. We’re going to have to take his word for it on that one…

More A-lister pairs of jeans will be released over the summer along with a number of other events and activities where the public will be able to see the pieces created by Johny Dar up close and personal.

Currently, Sharon Stone’s jeans are the most popular with a current bid of £4,179 (you know why), though we wouldn’t be surprised if Harry Styles manages to trump that over the coming weeks. If you’re obsessed with anything celebrity then we urge you to get involved. It’s a good cause and you can end up owning your own piece of Hollywood history. It’s win-win, really.
