The UAE has eased its COVID safety rules, including dropping most mask mandates today.

While that means that in most public places, including malls, schools and even inside flights, masks are no longer required, Masks are still required in some places.

So, where do you still need to wear a mask in Dubai and the rest of the UAE?

First, hospitals and medical facilities still require masks.

Second, mosques also require masks. Mosques have, however, dropped social distancing restrictions between worshippers.

Third, masks are required in public transportation.

Fourth, mask are required if you have COVID or are suspected of having COVID.

The new rules will go into effect on Wednesday, September 28.

The move was announced in a virtual briefing from a government spokesperson, saying that masks are now optional in most areas.

Airlines can still enforce the mask rule if they deem them necessary.
