Stop harassing Hailey Bieber, actor and pop star Selena Gomez demands. That’s according to her latest Instagram story, posted today, in which she reveals that she and Bieber have been in contact after their perceived feud has gotten out of control, with the model at the receiving end of vicious hate that has even reached the level of threats to her life.
“Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity,” Gomez wrote in her Instagram story.
“This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop,” she continued.
The two had a falling out online a few weeks ago.
There is an obvious connection and history between the two, with Gomez dating Hailey Bieber’s husband Justin off and on from 2010 until 2018, with Hailey dating Bieber briefly in 2015 before the two got engaged in September 2018.
Gomez and Justin were broken up at the time that Hailey and Justin got together, according to Hailey in a 2022 episode of the popular podcast Call Her Daddy.
““When him and I ever started, like, hooking up or anything of that sort, he was not ever in a relationship ever — at any point,” said Hailey.
“I’m not interested in doing that and I never was. … I can say — period, point blank — I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody,” she continued. “It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship. That was a situation where I know for a fact that it was the right thing for them to close that door. They were not in a relationship at that time, but of course, there’s a very long history there. … It has nothing to do with me. I know that it closed a chapter and I think it was the best thing that could have happened for him to move on and be engaged and get married and move on with his life in that way.”
Professionally, all sides are thriving, with one as the face of Levi’s, and the other doing great things on the small screen on the acclaimed Only Murders in the Building, which is set to add Meryl Streep in its next season, available on Disney+ in the Middle East.
