The Macallan, the Scottish luxury brand established in 1824, will unveil its latest expression this week in the UAE: Tales of The Macallan Volume I.

With the bespoke marque’s heritage dating back to the 1700s, Tales of The Macallan Volume I will pay homage to one of The Macallan’s foremost pioneers; Captain John Grant, who foresaw the potential of the Easter Elchies Estate and resourcefully transformed the wild landscape he had inherited into the birthplace of The Macallan.

Working in tandem with his labourers, Grant tilled the land to create perfect conditions for growing barley and to effectively sustain a small farming community. His efforts are reflective of The Macallan’s repute today for enabling expert craftmanship, specifically when mass production has become the norm.

Commemorating Grant’s strong sense of place, deep respect for nature, and legacy of community spirit – traits which embody The Macallan to this day – Tales of The Macallan Volume I emphasizes his values through art, music, and design.

To bring its latest expression to life, The Macallan has collaborated with renowned British artist, Andrew Davidson. Additionally, award-winning Scottish violinist, Nicola Benedetti and illustrious French crystal maker, Lalique, have also partnered with brand.

Davidson’s hand-crafted illustrations – consisting of traditional print techniques which use wood engravings – will be animated alongside a classical piece that was composed by Benedetti, to provide invitees with a clearer understanding of Grant’s story and the journey which has led to The Macallan’s globally recognized stature today.

Tales of The Macallan Volume I marks the next chapter in The Macallan’s longstanding and relentless pursuit of excellence.
