You’ll also need a COVID-negative PCR test within the last 48 hours on top of the vaccine

If you’re looking forward to upcoming happenings in the UAE, there’s now one big barrier to entry: All upcoming events and exhibitions will be limited to vaccinated residents only.

That means sports, cultural, social and art events of all kinds will be for vaccinated individuals only, or participants in the vaccine clinical trials.

Dr. Farida Al Hosaini, the UAE Health Sector’s official spokesperson, said that attendees would also need to present a negative COVID result as well no more than 48 hours prior to attending events in addition to the vaccine.

How will you show your vaccination status?

Here’s how:

1) Open the Al Hosn app

2) Present your active letter E to the security

Boom, you’re in!

The letter E shows up on the app 28 days after the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is administered. It’s active for seven days. To renew the E, you’ll need to take another PCR test, which extends it another 7 days.

According to Al Hosaini, 78.11 percent of eligible residents have received the vaccine, with 86 percent of the elderly, which totals to 12.29 million doses that the UAE has administered in total.

The UAE is still considering imposing movement restrictions on residents who have not taken the vaccine.

Covid vaccines are available for free in the UAE, with Pfizer-BioNTech required for anyone at least 12 years old, and Sinopharm for anyone above 16.
