Our biggest day yet; day three saw the who’s who of the watchmaking and fashion worlds collide at Esquire Townhouse

What a difference a day makes. Especially, if that day was number three of The Esquire Townhouse.

Day three started with a bang. Or rather, a high-intensity interval training session hosted by Technogym. 30 VIPs and friends of the brand met in the shadow of Volante Tower in Business Bay – also home to the Esquire Townhouse – were put through their paces in celebration of the Dubai Fitness Challenge.

Exercise-goers were rewarded for their hard work with Under Armour’s high-tech performance apparel, as well as a healthy breakfast courtesy of Dubai’s leading café Jones the Grocer (which has just opened a new venue at Emirates Golf Club).

Throughout the day, invitees came and went, exploring the 10,000-sq-ft penthouse apartment in business bay, with stunning views of the Burj Khalifa. When not admiring the view, guests explored the walk-in closes by Eden park, grooming salons by Chaps & Co. and Tom Ford, as well as Esquire’s own in-house Tailor courtesy of Sartor.

After a three course lunch – courtesy of Michelin-starred chef David Myers – guests sat down to one of the most exciting panels of the event; a discussion on the watch industry.

Watchmaking phenom Max Busser (he of MB&F fame), Hassan Akras (the region’s biggest watch blogger and creator of the Arab Watch Guide, as well as Remy Julia, the Middle East’s watch specialist for Christie’s, talked about innovation in the industry, as well as the region’s biggest watchmaking extravaganza: Dubai Watch Week.

The afternoon masterclass session was hosted by David Myers, who with help from the team at the Renaissance Hotel in Dubai’s Business Bay, is launching not one, but three brand-spanking new restaurant concepts starting next month. Myers ran VIP guests through a canape masterclass and produced some tasty treats along the way.

After a quick cocktail session – which saw Townhouse attendees learn how to make (and how to drink) the world famous ‘penicillin’ drink, they were presented with a nine-course tasting menu, once again courtesy of – you guessed it – Mr David Myers.

The panellists for the evening’s panel – a discussion on the Middle East’s fashion scene – included Sam Atherton, Hatem Alakeel and Denis Razman, founder, owner and CEO of ESMOD Dubai.

But don’t take our word for it. Check out the full summary video below:
