The Essential Weekend Grooming Kit

Spontaneity is our favourite spice. The idea that one quick decision, made in the spur of a moment, can completely supercharge your weekend plans, and at the same time remind you that life can be anything that you want to make of it. That said, while we do love an unplanned getaway, no one likes to be caught too unawares. This is why we have compiled the essential Eid weekend-ready grooming kit that should always remain within a grabbable distance from any adventure you might set off on.

Razer Barracuda Pro Headset

Did you know that the great barracuda is one of the fastest fish in the sea, able to hit speeds upwards of 60 kilometres an hour? and did you say you also know that the new Pro version has hybrid noise cancelling technology, and works entirely wirelessly? Oh, and it can integrate with two devices (like a gaming PC and a console) at the very same time? That’s one smart fish!
Imagine if they made Pro models of other aquatic sea life; what a world that would be…Wait a minute; facts have been crossed. Information is misaligned. The Barracuda Pro is not a new version of the distinctive silver fish, but the latest Razer headset of the same name. Someone should make that clearer.

Dior x Parley Beachwear Capsule

Over the past couple of years, the onslaught of the summer heatwave has been made significantly more tolerable thanks to the annual beachwear capsule release from the house of Dior. Sure, there isn’t much the maison can do about the mercury levels, but its innovative drops work wonders in making you feel (and look), well, cooler.
This season, at the behest of artistic director Kim Jones, Dior has teamed up with Parley for the Oceans, an environmental organisation and collaboration network taking action against major ocean threats. Together they have conceived some of the items of this capsule that reflects the House’s desire to move towards a more eco-innovative, sustainable future for fashion. Items from the collection are made from upcycled marine plastic and fishing gear removed from coastlines and remote islands around the world, and engineered into high performance materials by Parley and its global network.

Tempo Studio

The Tempo Studio, an AI-powered home smart gym complete with a built-in personal trainer, was made to address each excuse you may have on why you’re not exercising as much as you should.
This large yet sleek-looking machine, a roughly two-meter-tall metallic easel-shaped device with a huge 42-inch screen and weights in a storage compartment at the bottom, presents you with a seemingly endless number of classes (3,000 and counting) all separated into categories including HIIT, strength, yoga, meditation, flexibility, core and more—with lengths as low as 10 minutes if that’s all I have to spare.
When you start classes, put down my mat 1.8m away from the machine, put on the machine’s heartrate monitor on my wrist, and once the little cameras detect you, you’re greeted with a number of trainers who guide you through each class, as the screen tells younot only how many reps you’ve done, how fast your heart is beating, but also corrects you as you go if your form is off. If you’re taking a live class, you can even get feedback from the trainer as the class goes on.
This tech is called ‘3D Tempo Vision’, and the AI uses 3D sensors to track 250,000 points on your body up to 30 times every second. Nifty stuff.

Bang & Olufsen Beoplay EX

The Beoplay EX is the Airpods killer you’ve been waiting for, and after a few weeks of testing they’ve actually made us put Apple’s most popular product in a drawer.
Part of that is down to the stem-based shape, designed by Thomas Bentzen that keeps them both stylish and comfortable, with a much smaller housing of the earphone inside the ear that massively increases stability and basic wearability, making them easy to wear for hours without readjusting.
They’re also just straight-up good looking, with the Bang & Olufsen aesthetic on display throughout, with a mirror-like glass interface with a surrounding brushed aluminum ring. The hard part is choosing between the Black Anthracite, Gold Tone or Anthracite Oxygen finishes, complete with matching charging cases.
They also sound miles better than anything in-ear Apple has produced, and are easily among the best on the market in terms of sound, along with adaptive ANC and a fully waterproof design.
