The Dubai government just announced substantial fund to support content creators, aiming to boost the city’s digital media presence globally.
The city’s has earmarked a staggering Dhs150 million for a ‘Content Creators Support Fund’.
This announcement was a highlight of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, orchestrated by Dubai’s New Media Academy. It also saw the graduation of 90 budding influencers from the ‘Social Media Professional Program’.

HRH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, emphasized the vital role of media in mirroring societal values and aspirations. Influencers, in his view, are pivotal in broadcasting the UAE’s narrative globally, a narrative rich in tradition, cultural achievements, and the dynamism of its youth.
The AED150 million fund is designed to not only support but also to transform content creators into global ambassadors of the UAE’s.
The initiative, jointly managed by the UAE Government Media Office and the New Media Academy, is aimed at assembling a group of leading influencers and content creators. This group will then create the high-quality content that not only contributes to sustainable development objectives, but hopefully goes viral on the ‘gram.
Moreover, the Dhs150 million fund is expected to provide creators with opportunities to refine their skills, learn new techniques, and benefit from technical support, in collaboration with prominent industry players like Google and Facebook.
